The Physical Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for assessing and diagnosing clients with various mechanical, anatomical, and physiological challenges, as well as developmental and functional limitations. This role aims to establish a prognosis and develop a tailored therapeutic intervention plan. Continuous evaluation of the effectiveness of the rehabilitation strategies is a key component of this position.
- Conducts thorough evaluations of patients following impairments, injuries, or illnesses.
- Designs a personalized, patient-focused treatment strategy grounded in evidence-based practices, selecting suitable interventions based on comprehensive assessments.
- Regularly re-evaluates patient progress and contributes to discharge planning.
- Oversees treatment provided by students and physical therapy assistants.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to recommend client care interventions.
- Instructs and delegates tasks to supportive personnel regarding services to be delivered.
- Completes additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation in accordance with departmental policies and insurance requirements, adhering to licensing and regulatory standards.
- Utilizes professional judgment to maintain safety for self, patients, and others at all times.
- Engages in quality improvement initiatives.
- Meets departmental and system shift requirements.
Experience Required:
Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Licensed Physical Therapist - Various
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
