Responsibilities

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care within the last five years.
  • A current California RN License.
  • A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in mental health acute patient care and eligibility for California Board of Registered Nursing approval as an instructor in Mental Health Nursing are highly desirable. Additionally, applicants with excellent academic records, teaching experience at the community college level, and a commitment to student success and diversity will be given preference.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $85.09 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $19.91 per hour for classroom assignments. A comprehensive benefits package is not applicable to this position. The final determination of part-time faculty assignments is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.
