Position Overview
This full-time, on-site role requires a Construction Superintendent who will travel to various project locations as necessary. The Traveling Construction Superintendent will oversee construction sites, ensuring safety compliance, organizing project tasks, managing budgets, and facilitating project execution.
- Assist in developing the overall Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule and manage it throughout the construction phase, including creating and maintaining a 2-3 week look-ahead schedule.
- Generate essential reports such as Daily Reports, Time Sheets, and Work Orders.
- Design and uphold the site logistics plan for each project.
- Conduct constructability reviews to ensure project feasibility.
- Facilitate daily meetings with subcontractors and tradesmen on-site.
- Lead foreman's meetings to discuss project progress and challenges.
- Possess knowledge of construction methods and verify adherence to plans, specifications, and tolerances.
- Issue and monitor Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and as-built documentation.
- Administer the safety program for the project to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the construction process.
- Document and address all punch list items promptly.
- Schedule, attend, and manage inspections by city officials and deputies.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in Construction Site Management, Safety Protocols, and Organizational Skills.
- Proficient in Budgeting and Project Management.
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Bi-lingual candidates are preferred.
- Advanced customer service orientation and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Ability to set clear goals, understand diverse audiences, lead productive meetings, and foster team morale.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Experience managing projects valued over $30 million.
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, and mobile technology.
- Experience with construction projects, including mechanical and electrical systems, building materials, rough carpentry, and high-end finishes.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, manuals, and engineering/architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
- OSHA 30 certification is mandatory.
- Prior experience in hotel renovations and tenant improvements is advantageous.
