To support our ongoing success, we are seeking a motivated and proactive Quality Assurance Technician I to join our Quality Control team. This role involves assisting with quality inspections and ensuring that our finished products meet the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Assurance Technician I is responsible for conducting inspections and tests on our products to ensure compliance with PCI standards and the specifications outlined on the pour sheet. This position is essential for maintaining the quality and safety of our offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct pre-pour inspections, assessing dimensions, reinforcement placement, tensioning strand location, and forming quality.
  • Perform post-pour inspections of the cast products.
  • Execute required testing on materials used in product manufacturing, both wet and hardened.
  • Prepare concrete specimens for testing and regularly conduct tests for slump, temperature, unit weight, air content, and cylinder strength.
  • Participate in cable tensioning to record elongations and ensure proper tensioning.
  • Carry out cylinder strength tests to verify they meet specified strength requirements.
  • Conduct aggregate gradations and sieve analyses.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive Quality Control documentation for all inspections and tests performed.
  • Identify and document quality issues, collaborating with Production to resolve them.
  • Exhibit professionalism and integrity, earning the trust of colleagues.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and perform additional duties as required.
  • Be prepared to work outdoors throughout the year.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of necessary safety procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to complete projects efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and driven to accomplish tasks.
  • Open to changes aimed at achieving best-in-class standards.
  • Basic math skills and capability to read blueprints.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and using hands/forearms repetitively.
  • Ability to remain mobile for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts at various heights.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Moderate to high risk of safety hazards.
  • Exposure to a production environment.
  • Working in wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round.
