About Us

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. is a leading provider of shelter services for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our mission is to create a positive impact that enables families to thrive long after leaving our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor and document resident entries and exits, enforcing facility rules and regulations as needed.
  • Prepare reports for any hazardous conditions or incidents that may arise.
  • Assist in fire safety and evacuation procedures, responding promptly to emergencies and incidents.
  • Be attentive and vigilant during shifts, providing excellent customer service to residents and staff.
  • Assist with various building tasks as needed, including maintenance and repairs.
  • Be available for overtime shifts to support the needs of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid NYS Security Guard License.
  • Current 8-hour and 16-hour certificates.
  • Additional certifications such as F-02 and F-80 are a plus.
