Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare purchase orders for review and input.
- Analyze inventory levels to determine replenishment needs.
- Update inventory maintenance files to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with sales staff to provide pricing and product availability information.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors to secure the best deals.
- Acquire product specifications from manufacturers or through product review.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop a 3-month rolling forecast for inventory planning.
- Enter spiffs and promotions into the system for tracking purposes and prepare documentation for vendor reimbursement.
- Work with the marketing department to compile product information and prices for printed media and online events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical ability.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with coworkers and vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a strong understanding of Excel spreadsheets.
