ROLE SUMMARY: This position requires an understanding of our vision to be the premier producer of steel pipe and tube in North America. The individual will perform assigned duties in alignment with our Core Values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Growth, and Results.
The role involves operating equipment and tools for loading and unloading tube bundles on flatbed trailers or rail cars, as well as handling steel master coils and other shipments. Responsibilities include ensuring the safe operation of all equipment used in the movement of inventory and shipments, while adhering to safety, quality, customer focus, maintenance, and cleanliness standards. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong verbal and mathematical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
- Problem-solving abilities
- Focus on continuous improvement
- Proficient in computer usage
- Capability to read a tape measure is essential
- Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and gauges is preferred
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is advantageous
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required
- Communicate safety, quality, maintenance, and equipment concerns to management and peers as part of our improvement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Adherence to safety and quality standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, twisting, bending, kneeling, seeing, talking, and hearing
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift or move 100 pounds
- Willingness to work in a non-climate controlled environment
