Position Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant role is integral to the reconciliation and month-end financial closing processes, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting. This position collaborates closely with treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other members of the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively carry out the following duties:
  • Manage general ledger operations, including monthly closing tasks and the preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, focusing on Cash and Accounts Receivable.
  • Analyze and organize substantial data sets for reconciliation purposes.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during the reconciliation process.
  • Play a significant role in month-end accruals.
  • Comprehend the effects of foreign exchange rates and prepare journal entries for monthly foreign exchange revaluation.
  • Execute financial transactions in accordance with accounting policies and GAAP standards.
  • Engage in special projects and generate ad hoc reports utilizing JDE or Essbase as required.
  • Assist with special projects and audit requests from external auditors.
  • Proactively identify and communicate issues related to the general ledger and accounting practices.
Qualifications

The following qualifications are essential for this position:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with month-end closing processes.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Understanding of fundamental GAAP accounting principles.
  • Experience with JD Edwards is advantageous.
