Responsibilities
The Stroke and STEMI Program Nurse is accountable for organizing, coordinating, and leading all activities related to the Stroke and STEMI/SRC Program. This role involves active participation in performance improvement initiatives, data collection, and activities that enhance integrated stroke and STEMI/SRC programs, ensuring the delivery of top-tier healthcare.
The nurse will assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and educational initiatives related to stroke and STEMI care. Responsibilities also include evaluating the Stroke and SRC Programs through data capture, follow-up, and trend analysis, presenting findings to relevant committees.
Collaboration
This position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to identify and resolve issues, manage costs, and implement new services and performance measures for both the Stroke and STEMI/SRC Programs.
Qualifications
- BSN required; Master's degree (APN) preferred. Current state licensure as an RN or APN is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- A minimum of five years of clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting, including at least two years of inpatient experience, is preferred.
- Knowledge of stroke patient care based on American Stroke Association Guidelines is required after six months.
- Familiarity with STEMI patient care in accordance with LA County EMS regulations and guidelines is required after six months.
- Understanding of current State Laws and Regulations applicable to the facility and Stroke program is essential.
- Proficiency in Windows applications (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong skills in data management, analysis, and quality improvement processes are required.
- Experience with Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and core clinical systems is necessary.
Compensation
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, encompassing wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is approximately $55.14. The exact starting compensation will be determined during the hiring process, considering various factors such as skillset, years of experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
