Combustion Systems Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Combustion Technician to join our team at Relevant Industrial, LLC. As a key member of our Service Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper execution and delivery of technical support for combustion-related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, start-up, repair, and tune-up work on combustion systems and fuel trains.
  • Train other employees on the operation of combustion systems and fuel trains.
  • Read and work from schematics, as well as troubleshoot systems without schematics.
  • Diagnose malfunctions of equipment to determine cause and appropriate corrective action.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established protocols.
  • Conduct a complete combustion analysis, determine drafting, and make recommendations to optimize burner control systems.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Functional knowledge of all BCS, BMS, and CCS systems, DCS, PLC-based, or Honeywell 7800 and Fireye.
  • General PLC programming knowledge.
  • Understanding of NFPA 54, NFPA 58, NFPA 70, NEC, and UL requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide to customer sites, which may involve multiple overnight stays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to move about the facility (standing, walking, kneeling) and customer sites, varying by location.
  • Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to work in elevated areas.
  • Exert force of 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 25-50 lbs. frequently, 10-20 lbs. constantly.

Work Environment:

  • Field service environment working at customers' job-sites.
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends, and on-call.
  • Occasionally exposed to work conditions in extreme temperatures and loud environments.
