Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Homeless Shelter Liaison at Dreamville Staffing.
About the Job- This position is responsible for assisting residents staying in the shelter overnight, performing client intake procedures, and preparing client intake records.
- The incumbent will monitor the activity of residents on an assigned shift, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with house rules.
- Maintaining accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information is also a key responsibility.
- The successful candidate will ensure that the facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.
- Residential Management (60%):
- The Homeless Shelter Liaison will answer telephone calls in a professional manner and respond to questions regarding shelter operations.
- Client intake procedures will be performed, including running sexual offender checks, checking clients into the shelter, and preparing and monitoring client intake forms.
- The incumbent will prepare and maintain resident rosters and record statistics as instructed.
- Providing information and referrals to appropriate community agencies is also an essential function.
- Client files will be updated as needed, and clients' signatures will be obtained on forms, as well as house rules and regulations.
- The Homeless Shelter Liaison will supervise, prepare, and distribute meal and shower tickets, assign bed numbers, and distribute towels, linens, and personal hygiene items.
- Housekeeping & Chore Distribution (20%): The incumbent will assign daily cooking, cleaning, and maintenance chores to clients and ensure their completion. As needed, the Homeless Shelter Liaison will participate in cleaning and maintaining facilities, supplies, and equipment. Routine inspections will be conducted to ensure compliance with established standards, and accountability for The Salvation Army property will be ensured.
- Building Security (20%):
- The Homeless Shelter Liaison will ensure that clients comply with house rules and check their baggage for prohibited items.
- Incidents will be recorded, and the supervisor will be notified of any special circumstances or unusual problems.
- The security of the facility and clients will be ensured, and alarms will be armed and disarmed according to lodge policy.
- The Homeless Shelter Liaison will verify whether clients are hospitalized and the length of their stay.
- They will verify residents' case management and medical needs.
- Daily cleaning of the facility will be supervised.
- Any referral issues that arise will be reported to the supervisor.
- The Homeless Shelter Liaison may assist with seasonal program events as needed.
