At Lee's Summit Medical Center, we are dedicated to providing high-quality patient care and are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nurse Extern Student Nurse to join our team. As a Nurse Extern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment while pursuing your academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality patient care by performing basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels.
- Document and report observations, interactions, patient responses to performed activities, and any physical or behavioral changes at time of occurrence.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and discharges, as well as provide non-medicated support care and collect specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Active enrollment in a Nursing program pursuing LPN, ADN, or BSN.
- Interest in gaining hands-on experience while attending an academic program.
