Job Summary

Cherokee Brick & Tile Co. is seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for applying paint and coatings to various surfaces, including metals, drywall, and masonry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply paint and coatings to surfaces using various techniques, including sprays, rollers, and brushes.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting, including removing finishes and cleaning up work areas.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance painting duties, such as steel structural equipment and preparation for enamel, epoxy, and latex painting.
  • Prepare and paint a variety of surfaces, including steel, ferrous metal, interior drywall, shop coated metal, and uncoated metal.
  • Protect and prime surfaces as appropriate and apply finish coating.
  • Clean up work areas, equipment, supplies, and materials, and apply standard safety practices and procedures.
  • Keep daily time and records of painting projects.
  • Offer assistance and advice on materials, design, and color.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of related experience in an industrial environment.
Work Environment

This position requires frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions when working outside, dependent upon weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. This position does frequently require the employee to work at heights from a manlift or equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
