Overview

We are seeking a skilled LINUX OPTIMIZATION SPECIALIST to join our team at Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for optimizing Ubuntu for the latest silicon and ensuring seamless integration with various hardware platforms.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional individual with expertise in Linux optimization and integration. In this role, you will:

  • Work across the full Linux stack from kernel through GUI to optimize Ubuntu for the latest silicon.
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver a delightful, optimized Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
  • Take a holistic approach to the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms, providing inputs on technical plans, testing strategy, quality metrics, and more.
  • Participate as a technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
  • Strong knowledge of open-source communities and licenses.
  • Excellent programming skills in C and C++.
  • Able to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
