About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at HR Recruiting Services.

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to provide high-quality resident care in a dynamic and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate residents for communication problems and develop personalized therapy plans.
  • Coordinate audiometric screenings and referrals as needed.
  • Initiate speech-language therapy programs and maintain close collaboration with physicians.
  • Ensure resident rights are respected and maintained, and treat residents with kindness and respect.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to integrate speech-language treatment with other disciplines.
  • Participate in Resident Care Planning meetings and Family/Resident Care Plan Reviews.
  • Submit statistical reports and complete assessment forms as required.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in in-service training.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training programs for facility personnel.
  • Analyze and revise written speech-language policies and procedures annually.
  • Manage program costs within budgetary parameters.
  • Perform duties safely and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Promote quality improvement ideas and increase productivity and satisfaction.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service towards residents, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • M.A. or M.S. Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school.
  • New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association (optional).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maturity, diplomacy, and teamwork abilities.
  • Verification of qualifications by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Rehabilitation Therapies.
