We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Floodplain Manager to join our team at SAFEbuilt. As a key member of our community development solutions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with FEMA Floodplain regulations and other relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of floodplain plans, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with FEMA regulations and other local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to architects, engineers, homeowners, contractors, and developers on floodplain-related matters.
  • Assess and interpret construction plans, including electronic formats, to ensure compliance with floodplain regulations.
  • Manage and maintain long-term records of floodplain-related activities.
  • Participate in Community Assistance Visits (CAVs) and assist in the Community Rating System (CRS) program.
  • Retain certification through mandatory continuing education programs.
Requirements
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is required.
  • 3-5 years of combined experience in plan review, FEMA regulations, National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM), and Elevation Certificates.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
