Role Summary

The Personal Care Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting participants by maintaining their health and functionality, which is essential for their desire to remain at home. Responsibilities include providing personal care, assisting with meal preparation, performing light housekeeping duties, and offering transportation as outlined in each participant's individualized care plan developed by our Interdisciplinary Team. Care support will primarily be delivered in the participant's home, with occasional assistance at Brio Living Services facilities. Duties also involve assisting with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting participants as necessary, while adhering to safety protocols and utilizing appropriate assistive devices. The Personal Care Assistant will monitor participants for any changes in emotional, behavioral, or physical conditions and ensure that all documentation related to the participant's care plan is accurate and complete according to Brio Living Services policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the State of Michigan from an accredited program
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with the elderly, long-term care population, or in end-of-life care
  • Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
