Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist/Laborer to join our team at Lane Enterprises Inc. This role combines the responsibilities of a Truck Driver and a Laborer, requiring a unique blend of driving and manual labor skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from Lane manufacturing plants and job sites.
  • Manage daily driver's electronic log, plan routes, and meet delivery schedules.
  • Comply with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, identifying potential mechanical or safety issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the truck, trailer, and securement devices.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all parts being picked up or returned to vendors.
  • Secure loads to DOT requirements, using proper flagging methods and tarp when necessary.
  • Operate vehicles in a safe manner, obeying all traffic rules and regulations.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations to the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, and maintaining a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt.
Requirements
  • Proven work experience as a Commercial Truck Driver, including 2 years of verifiable driving experience and being 23 years of age.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • No major violations as defined by FMCSA.
  • No serious violations in the last 5 years as defined by FMCSA.
  • Two or less preventable commercial accidents in the last 3 years.
  • Licensed to drive trucks with manual transmissions.
  • Comfortable operating a tri-axle truck.
Physical Requirements
  • Current CDL Driver's License and DOT driver's physical card.
  • Ability to drive up to 11 hours per day, be on duty, and travel regularly within DOT Hours of Service rules.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb, bend, and stoop to facilitate loading and unloading.
  • Manual dexterity to operate various machinery and equipment.
