Role Overview

The Clinical Dietitian at AdventHealth DeLand plays a vital role in providing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy to patients. This position requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized plans for nutrition intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and monitor nutritional status of hospitalized patients from newborn to geriatric populations, considering cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.
  • Develop and implement nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy based on established standards of care and practice protocol/guidelines.
  • Manage resources in a cost-effective manner, participate in performance improvement efforts, and maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Florida Department of Health dietitian/nutritionist license
  • Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or related area required
