Cell Culture Technician Role

We are a San Diego-based biotech company, Cell Applications, seeking a highly skilled Cell Culture Technician to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the isolation, growth, and subculture of mammalian cell cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Isolate, grow, and subculture mammalian cell cultures
  • Perform tissue dissection and small animal surgery
  • Conduct lab maintenance, stocking, and cleaning
  • Manage digital and hardcopy recordkeeping
  • Operate microscopes and perform quality control testing
  • Participate in cell isolation and research & development projects
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in cell biology or a closely related field
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience or equivalent
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform aseptic work
  • Ability to perform calculations for cell doubling time, concentration, and seeding density
  • Comfort with repetitive tasks, including extended microscope use
  • Neat and detail-oriented with knowledge of life science laboratory equipment
