Perioperative Services RN Job Summary

The Perioperative Services RN assumes independent responsibility for the direct, primary care of patients through all stages of surgery, including pre-surgery, procedure, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides skilled observation and intervention to meet patient needs
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient arrivals to maximize effectiveness and productivity
  • Completes pre-surgical/procedure assessment, pre-op screening of data, and diagnostic testing
  • Administers and documents prescribed medications and IV solutions
  • Informs and educates patients and families about medications and treatments
  • Provides psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural support for patients and families
  • Communicates adequate information to team members and follows up at regular intervals
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing school
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
  • Current BLS - Healthcare Provider (AHA accredited)
  • Current ACLS - Healthcare Provider (AHA accredited) required within 90 days of hire
  • Current PALS- Healthcare Provider (AHA accredited) required within 90 days of hire
  • At least 1+ years of RN experience
