Job Summary

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Springfield, MA. As a Senior Level Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay: $36.75 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign-on bonus: $3,500 paid in two installments
  • Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off
