Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in Critical Care Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the physical and psychological problems of patients, identifying normal and abnormal findings, and implementing individualized plans of treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient care, including physical and psychological problems
  • Identify normal and abnormal findings
  • Implement individualized plans of treatment
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Assess patient needs and facilitate consultation when indicated
  • Direct patients to appropriate levels of care and communicate pertinent information
  • Assist in identifying and utilizing resources for further treatment or rehabilitation
  • Demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Delegates patient care appropriately
  • Maintains accountability for actions taken
  • Effectively functions as a resource person
  • Acts as a patient advocate
  • Performs effectively in the role of preceptor/mentor
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Current Certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current DEA registration
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program
  • PA Act 153 Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional nursing experience and/or physician assistant experience
Work Environment

This position requires regular, consistent, on-site and timely attendance. The incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need and may be required to travel locally between Excela Health locations.
