Position Overview:
The Tax Compliance and Reporting Analyst plays a crucial role within University Accounting, executing various financial and accounting responsibilities with an emphasis on tax adherence and state reporting. This role acts as the institution's authority on tax reporting and compliance, offering technical and professional guidance for federal, state, and international tax obligations, reconciliations, and submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary expert on Service Center analysis and state financial reporting.
- Provide specialized knowledge in state translations, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
- Support the University’s transition to advanced financial systems.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline, accompanied by three years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in utilizing software and technology tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and relevant web applications to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience with modern enterprise resource planning systems.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including the appropriate application of debits and credits and the reconciliation of ledgers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with departmental, university, state, and federal regulations pertaining to taxation.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to adapt delivery based on audience needs.
- Experience in training and presenting complex materials to various stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in auditing, reconciling, and analyzing financial data.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
