Position: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Location: Fareham
Compensation: £28.75 per hour via PAYE
Contract Duration: 6 months
This role involves intricate mechanical assembly tasks that necessitate precision calibration and fitting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in interpreting technical drawings and adhering to assembly procedures. Essential skills include basic engineering competencies, soldering, fine assembly, calibration, and testing protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a variety of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly of small components in line with company guidelines.
- Calibrate and perform testing routines at both sub-assembly and general assembly levels.
- Conduct fault diagnosis on electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and general assemblies.
- Implement rework and modifications following relevant standards.
- Prepare test reports, input data into electronic databases, and compile necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate records in business information systems as required.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Capable of following written repair, overhaul, and testing procedures to assess the serviceability of electro-mechanical products with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose, repair, and overhaul mechanical instruments to component level using fundamental mechanical assembly principles.
- Familiarity with a diverse range of mechanical tools and testing equipment.
- Adept at reading and interpreting technical documentation, including assembly diagrams and circuit schematics.
- Ability to conduct surveys and tests, recording findings in the relevant documentation systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications and Requirements:
The following qualifications are essential for successfully performing the key duties of this role:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or extensive experience in a comparable assembly position.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity.
