Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist at CHRISTUS Health is a highly skilled and experienced nurse who practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role requires the ability to provide routine and complex care, with a focus on long-range goals or plans. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will continue to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing, making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers as needed to help manage the clinical situation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet the expectations of the applicable CHRISTUS Health Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
  • Address the increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
  • Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed, and document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • RN License in the state of employment or compact.

7AM - 7PM
