ATC White Plains is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Coding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately diagnosing and coding laboratory records according to established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and confirm all laboratory requisitions for accurate diagnosis coding
- Enter ICD-10 diagnosis codes in the hospital information system
- Coordinate contacts with physician offices for diagnosis and/or ICD-10 codes
- Document phone conversations with physician offices according to Medicare guidelines
- Assist with laboratory outreach registrations as needed
Requirements:
- High school graduate with typing skills of 45 wpm
- Previous hospital experience preferred
- Knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes preferred
- Medical terminology required
Work Environment:
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary for job tasks
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time
- Constantly utilizes/operates computer and other office equipment
