Autism ABA Behavior Technician

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children and have a strong interest in psychology, early childhood development, and education.
The Autism ABA Behavior Technician will work one-on-one with clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, implementing behavior plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering direct instruction, collecting data, and maintaining a professional relationship with parents and the community.
We are seeking a full-time staff member who is available to work 40 hours per week. Our hours of operation are 8:00-5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00-2:00 PM on Fridays.
The Autism ABA Behavior Technician is a nationally recognized certification granted by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). No experience is required, and we will provide on-the-job training and assist with the required training and certification process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play with children and engage in pretend play, modeling, and being silly
- Work with children who are seated on the floor and/or in small chairs
- Move frequently throughout the therapeutic setting to gather materials, anticipate and respond to the movement of a patient, and/or provide instruction in a variety of settings
- Position oneself to participate and respond to behaviors of clients, as well as block or prevent aggression from clients
- Utilize continuous visual tracking to monitor the movement of patients and the surrounding environment
- Teach patients to use vocal speech and articulate sound and model speaking clearly
- Work in both indoor and outdoor settings as they relate to the patients' natural environment
- Lift up to 30 lbs. while assisting patients
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation with insurance and a valid Mississippi Driver's License
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Experience/interest in working with children
- Familiarity with iPads
