Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to assist customers with their healthcare needs, enhancing health outcomes through prescription fulfillment, clinical services, therapy consultations, exceptional customer service, and oversight of pharmacy staff. The position requires frequent independent decision-making. The individual must perform all duties safely, adhering to Rite Aid policies and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The associate is accountable for the following functions, along with other assigned tasks: 1. Ensure the precision and suitability of all prescriptions filled by conducting Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations. 2. Foster business growth and prescription volume through recommended clinical initiatives, including immunization programs and available Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services. 3. Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing medical inquiries and providing healthcare guidance. 4. Oversee the activities of Pharmacy Technicians and support personnel during shifts. 5. Assist the Pharmacy Manager in training, mentoring, and managing pharmacy staff. 6. Assume managerial duties for the pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager. 7. Ensure the security of the Pharmacy department. 8. Comply with all federal and state regulations. 9. Address and resolve customer concerns and inquiries to build trust and loyalty. 10. Collaborate with healthcare providers and utilize reference materials to gather information on customers and prescriptions, resolving any issues that may arise. 11. Help maintain the Pharmacy department's cleanliness and organization. 12. Prioritize and ensure timely completion of Pharmacy Department tasks, including inventory management and customer communications.

Qualifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This role includes supervising Pharmacy Technicians and Cashiers, executing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and relevant laws. Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining staff; evaluating performance; and addressing complaints.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To succeed in this position, the associate must effectively perform each essential duty. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required: Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy, along with Immunization Certification from an accredited organization (e.g., APhA). Pharmacist License in the state of original licensure, with reciprocity in states of application.
