Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, and meal assistance.
  • Encourage participation in daily recreational activities, such as crafts, games, and exercise.
  • Ensure residents remain clean, dignified, and presentable at all times.
  • Provide emotional support and enrichment to residents.
  • Follow care plans and document provided care accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff to ensure seamless care.
  • Observe, document, and report any changes in resident condition or behavior to the Care Manager or Director of Memory Care.
  • Enhance the lives of older adults by assisting them with patience and respect.
  • Maintain a cooperative and cheerful attitude when relating to residents or their guests.
  • Embrace teamwork and collaboration among all staff.
  • Keep residents' rooms in proper order, including tidying rooms, making beds, and putting clothes away.
  • Remain up to date on all company-provided training.
  • Attend periodic staff meetings, in-service training, and mandatory meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school education or GED or combination of related experience.
  • Experience is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Reasonable expectations of mathematical, technical, and reasoning skills to perform essential job responsibilities.
  • According to Title 22 requirements, employees must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff.
  • Remain professional and respectful, and interact with our customers according to the concepts identified by the Carlton Way.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States of America and provide sufficient work authorization documentation(s)
  • DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance must be completed before working in the community (obtained through the community)
  • Health screening/Physical and negative TB test must be less than six (6) months old (obtained through the community)
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (obtained through the community)
