TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is a 150-bed hospital that has provided high-quality health care for over 40 years. We are proud to be the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Sumner County and a Certified Primary Stroke Center.

Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Certificate must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP), or State Registered Respiratory Therapist, or Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT) must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.

Estimated Salary Range

$83,400 - $123,200 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
