Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Per Diem Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammograms, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring the success of our mammography service.
Key Responsibilities- Specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms for the detection of breast cancers and lesions.
- Responsible for the initial and ongoing success of the mammography service in the practice in which you work.
- Prepare patients for the mammographic procedure.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Move mammographic equipment to specific positions and adjust controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
- Practice radiation protection techniques by using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills.
- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment.
- Examine digital images for image quality.
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order at all times.
- Perform all required QA testing required to comply with MQSA, ACR and State requirements/regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Process routine paperwork and all required data entry.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Prepare all required reports and data pursuant to MQSA and State requirements.
- Assist the Radiologist with QA/QC reporting.
- Perform all mammography tracking following MQSA guidelines and requirements.
- Maintain all QA documents necessary to exceed Annual FDA Inspection requirements.
- Be responsible for obtaining and maintaining ACR accreditation.
- 2 years of experience in mammography.
- ARRT certification.
