We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Safety Systems team at NASCAR. As a Safety Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and coordinating safety-related research and testing to improve safety for drivers, crews, and spectators.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in mechanical and test operations with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies on safety equipment.
- Conceptualize experiments, determine and design test methods, and analyze test results.
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot new and existing test fixtures, and communicate design requirements to shop personnel.
- Collaborate with industry members to develop and implement safety system improvements for on-track deployment.
- Participate in incident investigations and crash reconstruction efforts using data, video, and photographs.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomechanical Engineering, and one to two years of related experience.
- Proficient with Matlab, PTC Creo, or CATIA.
- FE certification preferred.
- Effective reading, writing, and communication skills, and ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
