POSITION SUMMARY
The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Occupational Therapist and Practice Manager by executing a variety of therapeutic tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement occupational therapy interventions for patients under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
- Conduct both active and passive therapeutic exercises, utilizing modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and various temperature treatments.
- Guide and encourage patients in enhancing their functional abilities, including mobility and daily living skills.
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, documenting responses and reporting findings to the Occupational Therapist.
- Assist in fitting and instructing patients on the use of assistive devices like braces, crutches, and wheelchairs.
- Collaborate with therapy team members and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and treatment plans.
- May assess patients' physical capabilities and vital signs to aid in treatment evaluations.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the State of Florida.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) is mandatory.
