The Mammography Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Radiology Department at Alaska Regional Hospital AK. This position is focused on providing high-quality mammography services to patients.
Certification Requirements- ARRT (M) (R) certification
- BLS certification
- Perform mammography procedures, including both screening and diagnostic imaging.
- Support the operational needs of the Mammography/Diagnostic Radiology unit.
- Engage in stereotactic guided wire localization and biopsies.
- ARRT Registered in Mammography is mandatory.
- Completion of 8 hours of Tomosynthesis training.
- Experience in performing mammography procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with weekly quality control processes is preferred.
This position offers a day shift from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. There is no on-call requirement.
Unit Information- Type of unit: Mammography/Diagnostic Radiology
- Staff Composition: 1 Radiologist, 1 Ultrasound Tech, 1 Mammographer
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Equipment Utilized: Hologic Selenia Dimensions and Affirm Stereotactic
- EMR Systems: Epic, Volpara, McKesson PACS
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, motivated, and focused on patient-centered care. Attention to detail and high-quality positioning are essential attributes for success in this role.
