Job Title: Police Officer

Job Summary:

The City of Escondido, CA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol assigned areas by car, bike, motorcycle, or on foot to maintain a visible presence and prevent crime.
  • Respond to emergency calls, investigate crimes, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations, and provide traffic control as needed.
  • Provide assistance to the public, including answering questions and providing information.
  • Participate in community policing initiatives and build relationships with community members.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and departments to achieve common goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from a POST-certified California Police Academy within the past three years or currently attending a California POST-certified Standard Length Police Academy.
  • Valid Class C California driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including fingerprinting and polygraph examination.
  • Ability to pass a medical examination, including vision and hearing tests.
  • Ability to lift and move objects of moderate to heavy weight.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
