**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech/Language Pathologist to join our team at DeKalb County Regional Office of Education. As a Speech/Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to support students with speech and language disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students' communication needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent communication strategies across settings.
  • Evaluate and translate research into practice to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in speech and language therapy.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports to address students' communication needs.

Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Certificate, Type 73, in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Knowledge of methods of assessment, systematic processes to collect data, and empirically based decision-making.
  • Knowledge of language acquisition and development, appropriate interventions, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of collaborative and/or consultation models and methods and their application.
  • Knowledge of development and implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with diverse communication needs.
  • Knowledge of technology-based communication tools and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
