About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician I to join our team at Charles River Laboratories. As a Histotechnician I, you will play a critical role in assisting with laboratory procedures, shipping and receiving of samples, and preparing pathology materials and data for shipment and archiving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic histology laboratory procedures, including trimming, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping.
- Assist with shipping and receiving of samples, and prepare pathology materials and data for shipment and archiving.
- Work effectively as a team member, accurately record data, follow verbal and written instructions, maintain a positive work atmosphere, communicate effectively, and interact in a professional manner with management, coworkers, and sponsors.
Requirements:
- 1 year of pathology laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience with computer software programs is preferred.
- Ability to perform laboratory procedures, which require talking, hearing, standing or sitting for long periods of time, entering data into a computer, using appropriate instruments, reaching with hands and arms, working in narrow spaces, and wearing safety equipment (PPE) according to OSHA regulations and company standards.
