Position Overview:
Upstate University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to provide outreach athletic training services to local high schools and colleges in coordination with physicians at Upstate Orthopedics. This is a unique opportunity to work with student athletes and provide top-notch care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training services to local high schools and colleges, including injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with physicians at Upstate Orthopedics to provide patient care support in a clinic setting.
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs for student athletes.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of injuries and develop rehabilitation plans.
- Provide first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Document injuries and illnesses in accordance with hospital policies.
- Assist the athletic director as needed.
- Refer patients to overseeing physicians as necessary.
- Abide by standing orders with physicians and scope of practice in New York State.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training.
- Current BOC Athletic Training Certification.
- Current New York State Athletic Training Licensure from the Department of Education.
- BLS CPR/AED Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Work Environment:
This is a second-shift position with some Saturday work required. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide excellent patient care.
Compensation:
The salary for this position is $55,341 - $64,272 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
