About the Med Surg Unit

The Med Surg Unit at Zeeland Hospital is a 29-bed unit with an attached 7-bed ICU. Our team provides care to adult patients with a variety of diagnoses, with a focus on medical cases. We also see surgical cases, including bariatric, total joint, abdominal, and podiatry procedures.

Scope of Work

As a Registered Nurse on our Med Surg Unit, you'll deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably, upholding the standards of professional performance as described by the American Nurses Association. You'll use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, striving to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required within 5 years.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required upon hire.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required within 180 days.
  • Specialty certification is preferred.

Our Med Surg Unit is located at Zeeland Hospital, with a variable schedule and every-other-weekend rotation. We're committed to providing a safe environment for our team members, patients, visitors, and community.
