Job Overview

As a Bakery Cake Decorator at Whole Foods Market, you will play a critical role in creating visually stunning cakes and pastries that exceed our customers' expectations. With your artistic talents and attention to detail, you will ensure that every cake and pastry meets our high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cake Decorating: Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items using advanced decorating techniques.
  • Production Management: Prioritize production lists, recommend adjustments as needed, and maintain accurate records of production and spoilage.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing customers' needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide guidance and support for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other Team Members, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience, with prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail preferred.
  • Skills: Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills, including intermediate piping techniques and the ability to create decorative flowers and borders.
  • Education: Completion of the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $18.25 - $24.50, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs.
