We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Specialist to join our team in the Houston, TX area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality wound care to patients in their homes.
Responsibilities:- Provide hands-on care to patients, including debridement of wounds and application of topical wound care products.
- Recommend associated services to improve wound healing outcomes, including labs, radiologic tests, and referrals.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and recommend follow-up care.
- Recommend prescription of required medications and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to facilitate wound healing and prevention.
- Risk assessment for patients with diabetes, as per ADA guidelines.
- Patient education and management.
- Education of primary care physicians on current wound management practices.
- Graduate nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant graduate from an accredited school.
- National certification as NP or PA, with wound care certification preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience at the advanced practice level.
- Current, active, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state.
- Ability to practice autonomously.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
- Highly competitive compensation package.
