Unavailable is in search of a Practical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated Supportive Care Team.

Summary

The Practical Nurse Specialist will deliver direct patient care to designated individuals under the guidance and oversight of a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities encompass executing specific procedures, administering medications, and providing treatments.

Job Qualifications
  • Must possess a current LPN license or be eligible for licensure in the State of Florida.
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing program focused on Licensed Practical Nursing.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in Hospice, Medical-Surgical, or other acute care settings is required.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for this role.
  • Exemplary professionalism in communication with patients, their families, colleagues, physicians, and other healthcare personnel.
  • On-Call duties are mandatory.
  • Preferred: Certification from a 30-hour IV training course.
  • Additional IV certification will be provided by the facility post initial certification.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver compassionate care to patients facing terminal illnesses and their families.
  • Conduct and document thorough assessments.
  • Communicate any changes to the supervising RN promptly.
  • Provide education to patients and their families.
  • Clarify the implications of diagnoses/prognoses and treatment options based on information from the primary nurse and/or physician.
  • Collaborate with an Interdisciplinary Team to create a Plan of Care that reflects patient and family-centered goals.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills effectively.
  • Act as a representative of Unavailable, employing effective communication methods and skills.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain professional and positive working relationships.
  • Advocate for a holistic approach to the care of terminally ill patients.
