Swim Instructor

At the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina, we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and abilities.

• Teach swimming lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of each student.
• Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for students.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective program.

• Minimum age of 16.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid certification.
• YMCA Swim Instructor Certification, American Red Cross WSI, or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
• Must demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.

• Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
• Ability to lift equipment and to lift a small to average size child.
