Senior Licensed Practical Nurse

Rutgers University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Adult Outpatient and Child and Adolescent Outpatient departments at Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare.
Job Summary:The Senior LPN will provide technical nursing care to child through adult populations, performing treatments and procedures within established guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical nursing specialties, excellent communication skills, and be PC literate with proficiency in word processing and leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct care to patients within scope of practice.
- Contribute to nursing assessment, nursing care planning, and treatment plan.
- Demonstrate competency in performing all procedures within the scope of practice and requirements of the position.
- Document all aspects of patient care in the EMR.
- Utilize effective communications skills by demonstrating concern and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
- Maintain patient safety, comfort, and cleanliness.
- Be knowledgeable with and initiate emergency procedures.
- Possession of a valid and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience as an LPN is required.
- Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- Demonstrated competency in venipuncture techniques.
- Demonstrated strong clinical nursing specialty, excellent communication skills, must be PC literate with proficiency in word processing and leadership abilities.
The position requires standing 2/3 of the time, walking to 2/3 of the time, requires sitting 1/3 of the time, use of hands to finger, handle or feel 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms 1/3 of the time, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 1/3 of the time, talk or hear over 2/3 of the time.
Functions will be carried out in certain areas, where hospital blood borne and airborne pathogens exposure control plans must be followed.
Subject to unpredictable situations, patient crises, both medical and psychiatric.
Occasionally exposed to patients exhibiting assaultive behaviors.
May be exposed to varying or extreme temperatures.
