Music Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Music Teacher to join our team at Mount Pleasant Community School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching instrumental music to 5th and 6th-grade students, creating a positive and engaging learning environment, and promoting the development of musical skills and appreciation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students, promoting musical growth and development.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment, promoting positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, providing regular updates on student progress and musical achievements.
Requirements:
  • Iowa Teaching Certification with endorsement in music education.
  • Experience teaching instrumental music to elementary students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Working Conditions:

The Music Teacher will work in a school setting, with regular hours and occasional evening or weekend events. The position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
