Job Summary

The Medical Assistant/LPN will be responsible for assisting the provider at an ambulatory healthcare site with patient visits and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the practice. This role requires collaboration with others in a team setting, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
* Room patients and manage an efficient flow of the provider's caseload
* Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
* Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
* Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols
* Process referrals and medication refills
* Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Requirements

* Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years
* Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
