Custodial Apprentice

This position offers a unique opportunity for Nisqually Tribal members to gain the skills necessary for a career in custodial supervision. As a Custodial Apprentice, you will work closely with the Custodial Department to develop your knowledge and skills in maintaining the inside and outside of the casino building, as well as technical skills for repairing and maintaining cleaning equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Custodial Team Members in performing the essential functions of the Custodial Worker, Custodial Second Lead, and Custodial Shift Lead positions.
- General cleaning of restrooms, vacuuming, emptying garbage, shampooing, and operating equipment.
- Maintain and repair equipment.
- Clean and degrease various kitchen equipment and other workstations.
- Nisqually Tribal Member.
- Willingness to study toward and earn a GED or high school diploma.
- Ability to learn all aspects of the Custodial Department.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, accept guidance, and correct mistakes.
- Ability to learn and use basic computer skills.
- Ability to work within time constraints and stay on task.
- Ability to learn communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgment.
- Positive guest service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand/or move around continuously during the assigned shift.
- Manual and finger dexterity for operating a personal computer and routine paperwork.
- Ability to tolerate a noisy, smoke-filled environment.
$19.58/Hourly
