Join Our Team as a Logistics Vehicle Operator

Are you prepared to operate commercial motor vehicles within a designated area and assist in delivering exceptional service? As a Logistics Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for performing trailer relocations in the yard, managing yard operations (including trailer check-ins, traffic management, and internal communications), conducting yard inspections, completing driver training programs, and operating various vehicle types to support our logistics network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety by adhering to company policies and regulations.
  • Execute various yard functions, collaborating with site operations teams and external carriers to ensure timely and defect-free trailer movements.
  • Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads and within the yard to facilitate trailer movements.
  • Comply with all company policies and DOT regulations regarding vehicle operation, including size, weight, and route designations.
  • Complete vehicle inspection reports and promptly report any maintenance or delivery issues to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of working hours and breaks, following established safety protocols and traffic laws.
  • Engage in physical activities, including lifting up to 49 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Support training initiatives as a peer trainer when necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, including potential overtime.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Willingness to drive up to 75% of the time and obtain a Driver Qualification File (DQF) and/or Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to enforcing safety measures and building collaborative relationships.
  • Experience as a Peer Driver Trainer (PDT) is a plus.
