Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Theater Technician IV to join our team at the City of Cerritos, CA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of theatrical productions, concerts, and other events at our performing arts center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the setup and striking of stages, scenery, and equipment for various events
  • Operate and maintain theater equipment, including lighting, sound, and rigging systems
  • Load and unload trucks, and assist with the movement of heavy equipment
  • Perform scene changes during performances, and execute other technical tasks as required
  • Clean and maintain the theater, including the stage floor and backstage areas
Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience performing stagehand duties in a performing arts center
  • Journey-level skill as a lead technician
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and to problem-solve and find quick solutions
  • Knowledge of stage-related equipment and techniques, including lighting, electrical, and rigging systems
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, requiring a varying schedule of hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The incumbent must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting heavy equipment.
